Rock the Library Event a Success

Our first Guitar Hero/Rock Band Challenge was a success! Thank you to all those who were brave enough to come out and show your skills! Overall we had over twenty guitar heroes and two full rock bands compete. I was very impressed with the amount of "expert" guitar heroes we have in the area! And congratulations to those who were lucky enough to go home with a prize. A big thank you to the Tri-County Record for helping me pull this one off! Check out their website for pictures and video.
Missed out on this event? No worries. Guitar Hero/Rock Band: the Rematch is already in the works. If you are interested in helping plan this event we are looking for teens to give their input. You plan it, you make up the rules, we'll provide everything else. If interested drop me a line on email at carin.miles@villagelibrary.org.
If you were here for the Guitar Hero day or if you have been to the library recently you already know that our teen section could use a little work! We have applied for a grant to be used just for teens. If we get the money we are going to need your input on what to buy. This spring I would like to see some teens come out and talk about ways we can improve the library for you. What should we buy with the money if we get it? You loved the Guitar Hero/Rock Band Challenge, what other events could we offer that would interest you this summer? If you are interested in making the library better for teens email me with your contact information. We will be meeting at the end of May so keep an eye out for more information.
